15-5 stainless steel is a martensitic, precipitation-hardening material with chromium, nickel, and copper. It is often the first choice in the aerospace industry for fasteners and structural components. The alloy is further strengthened by a low-temperature heat treatment which precipitates a copper-containing phase in the alloy. 15-5 PH can meet the stringent mechanical properties required in the aerospace and nuclear industries.
These materials are not a single material but the name for a family of corrosion resistant steels. Like many scientific breakthroughs, the origins of stainless steel lies in a lucky accident. From the smallest part of the zipper to the largest building skyscraper.
Metal fabrication is widely used across various industrial sectors such as mining, construction, manufacturing, shipbuilding, automotive, aerospace, and energy.
